President Kari Overman
I sent the minutes last week and typed up the list of the karaoke songs.
I worked on preparing for the retreat. I had a great time at the retreat
last night and hope that everyone else also did. This week at RHA,
I am going to ask you to cut the side chatter and we are going to try
to talk one at a time.
Advisor Kim Brosdahl
Received a thank you note from Kise Jean for the gifts that we purchased
for her at the end of the semester.
The proposed costs of Room and Board for 2005-06
Last year students experienced a 6% room cost increase and a 3% increase
in board
Next year returning students may experience a 5% increase
New students will receive a 7% increase
There will be a 6% board increase
The Dragon Dollar meal plan: $30 of plan will not be available
for spending, will go towards kise maintenance and upkeep costs – they
are thinking of making the plan $230, with $30 going towards maintenance
There will be a $75 fee for DSL internet
This proposed plan will be presented to the MNSCU board at their March
meeting and will be approved after that
Hall Councils
Ballard
Discussed future programs: casino night, Halo 2 tournament, Poker tournament
Talked about themes to decorate bathrooms
Finalized basement game room plans
Talked about events for Valentines Day
Discussed a Bachelor Auction, for community service by donating the
money to charity, may tie the event in with Dragon Frost plans
Talked about Relay for Life walk; have a group of 8 guys
Dahl
Working on renovating the exercise room in the basement
Planning on turning the adjacent room into a yoga/aerobics room
Complex Coordinator agreed to teach a step aerobics class in that room
Working on moving computer room into the main lounge
Creating a study bucks program to use as an incentive to get people
to attend hall council
Looking for an events and promotions chair
Working on a dahl hall council retreat

Discussed valentines day program of Speed Dating with Ballard Hall
Council
Talked about getting new ping pong / air hockey table
Got a ping pong table donated
Decided to have hall council meetings in Holmquist twice a semester
Appointed a new webmaster

T-shirts
Lindsay presented the information that she obtained from Sportland – but
is going to check on the RHA logo and how much more it will cost
We decided on getting long sleeve t-shirts

Didn’t meet this week - will meet next week
Events / Advertising
Aaron presented his information regarding the bowling tournament – he received
some information about NDSU’s bowling alley and the possibility
of checking that out and will get back to us next week

Senate
They were presented the Proposed costs of Room & Board for 2005-2006
last week and talked about that
Lobby Day is coming up and MSUM had decided to support the tuition freeze and
lobby for it
The Comstock Fee will increase by 1% next year
Housing Advisory
Talked about policies in handbook, & Grantham remodelation, meets
February 11th at 2PM in Kise Line D
Old Business
Halloween
It is with happiness that I inform you that this will no longer appear on the
agenda
Ballard has submitted their report
Thanks to all the hall councils for submitting their reports and for all their
hard work with Halloween
Blood Drive
The numbers need to be obtained from the Blood Service and from there we will
be able to determine the winner
New Business
Casino Night
Will take place the weekend of March 4 & 5
Details will be discussed more in depth next week
Dragon Frost
February 18th – 26th Does anyone have ideas for programs for
events?
April WYD – Relay for Life Walk
We talked about putting together teams for this to do as a WYD for April
The event is scheduled for April 15th & 16th
Thoughts are having each hall put together teams and have RHA sponsor them
We didn’t know when we need to sign-up so Serena was going
to check on information and get back to us
Goals
I would like each hall council to bring three goals for next week
These goals should reflect plans for second semester

Looking for people to be part of the fabulous RHA executive board – applications
are accepted at anytime
