Design Principles in Action

Contrast

Lush

I see contrast in the website Lush with their vibrant colors. The colors for their products (specifically bath bombs and soaps) have a big contrast in comparison to their black/white branding and website header at the top. Each product is also centered in the middle of the screen when clicking on each product. The type hierarchy is also good contrast between the titles and sub sections of products, it is very clear to see differences in the text. Lush

Emphasis

BrewHalla

The heading title at the top of the page is in pink text and bolder than the rest of the text in comparison. With the hierarchy of the text being bigger font for each section and smaller descriptions for under each section, that talks about the Market, the Hotel, and Events that can planned and held there. The images next to each section describing the amenitites of the company, you can get a better understanding of the descriptions. The font is a good choice and easy to read on the eyes. The home page of the site is easy to navigate with menus at the top in white text with a black background so it is easy to view. BrewHalla

Movement

Genshin Impact

Not only does the website have background video playing to contribute to the movement of the page, but has textured clouds that made them have a feeling of depth. As you scroll down the page, you will see highlights of the game mechanics, along with playable characters. The playable characters are put on the page with their splashart making them seem 3-dimensional. The title of the game in the center od the screen with smaller text below it reading "Explore a World of Adventure" and decorative lines pointing inwards leads the eyes to the large gold colored text button that allows people to download and play the game for free. Unity

WebToon

The layout of the website is concise on the home page as it shows popular comics at the moment, in a layout that is in squares and rectangles going down the page. The white background ties it together since the splashart for each comic is colored. The text for each comic title is also easy on the eyes being a sans serif font with the artwork, the green and white combo of the website is also a good combination. I also see unity between each comic as when you hover over it with your mouse, it lights up the color of the genre that it is; therefore pink for romance, purple for fantasy, and blue for action.
