Simplicity

Cassidy Jo Creative Co’s biggest design principle is simplicity. It has simple colors, simple design, there are no patterns jumping out. There are some small articles and quotes about her work and photos and that is it. Very simplistic. There is no background design except for a solid color which is light. The only thing is not simplistic is her photos which contain details of the background and of her subjects. I used this element throughout my website by being minimal in the amount of details there are. Just trying to keep it a casual easy to navigate and read website. Cassidy Jo Creative Co.

Contrast

Brewhalla has contrast, which is why the black background is a good color. The contrast is created from the white on black along with the hot pink which adds a pop of color to it too along with making it really stick out. Another contrasting element in the fun border at the top of their page. It just provides a little bit of emphasis on the fun part of Brewhalla. I used a the same fun border on my hero image as Brewhalla’s website has. I also have black background and use green as a pop of color. Granted it is not bright pink but the subtle green fits in with two of my other websites. Brewhalla

Rhythm and Repetition

Pinterest has pattern, rhythm, and repetition. Pinterest has these same elements in it through its designs of the pins. It is heavily photo-based, and all of the same shapes. All the pins are in a rounded square box and vary on length. The entire page is made up of this look creating a constant repetition. This can be seen through this website by the logo photo edges being rounded and created a soft like the ones seen on the Pinterest page. Each box also has the company logo or photo in it like Pinterest has their boxes filled with different phots, quotes, and objects as well. Pinterest

Unity

The Target website has unity and repetition. There are lots of repetition of shapes, more specifically squares and circles. The unity witnessed throughout the page is done through all same placements. You have photos with the price in the top left corner followed by beneath it there are labels for what it is. Then you have the adds for specifics from the ad above which is the product itself with the price in the left hand side and the add to cart widget. This provides unity throughout the page as well as it provides structure and can tie all the shapes together into one uniform website design. You also have the colors of red and whtie being shown throughout the squares and website. Target
